Market Observations & Constraints
- Breadth over Depth: We initially thought customers wanted deep data sets (same task over and over) but they want high-variety datasets (max 5 hours per task).
- Intermediary Friction: We are mostly talking to intermediaries that often lack technical depth; Turing initially gave us a request for just ego-centric data then requested side-camera views and only 1 to 2 hours per view in a commerical facility. Intermediaries also often lack the knowledge needed for data collection, we are focused on moving upstream to labs and large humanoid companies.
What's Next
- Direct-to-Customer: First direct customer contact is NVIDIA (though they are hot and cold). We are headed to Robotics Summit in Boston to build a deeper pipeline with direct users of our data.
